PCT National Patent Requirements

To file for a PCT national phase in Chile the following information is required:

  1. Patent Information

    1. PCT International Application Number
    2. PCT international application date
    3. International Preliminary Examination Report
    4. WIPO Publication
    5. Complete Specifications in Spanish (Chilean Spanish)
    6. Title
    7. Abstract of the Invention
    8. Name of the Applicant
    9. Name of the Inventor

  2. Power of Attorney

    The power of attorney should be certified and legalized before the Chilean Consulate, and it has to be presented within 30 days from the Chilean Patent filing date.

    Once the application has been filed it enters the regular Chilean patent application process. While carrying out the technical examination the examiner will use the international search report and or the international preliminary exam if taken.
